small, cool

in case you haven't already seen the small, cool 2010, contest going on over at apartment therapy...you must. as apartment dwellers ourselves, i enjoy seeing what unique things people do in these small, limited spaces.

this one below was one of my favs of them all, but there are many other great ones.

the bedroom is what had me at hello. although i say it once i'll say it again, i love that wicker lamp, but how do people sleep with out a fan? maybe the husband and i are just hot sleepers. anyway, the color is great. middle of the road, a sense of masculine but not too much....and did we notice the doggy beds under that bench?

i don't know if i could "live" in this much blue and black...but i like

here was the other selling point for me...the red cabinets are just perfect for this tiny kitchen
go check out more of the lovely little places here

how to lose without regrets,

how to acquire without meanness."

SBTB

a chart made based on the classic and my most favorite tv show....saved by the bell. the one where jesse spano is under so much pressure between the music video she is recording and her geometry test and getting into Stanford that she becomes addicted to caffeine pills, ah a classic. isn't this awesome?
to this day it stands to be that the best compliment i have ever received was given by my dear friend when i first met her our freshman year of college. she said i reminded her of "kelley from saved by the bell." i know, i died :)

chanel

Coco Chanel, i mean how much more glamorous of name can a movie get? we watched this movie this weekend and its remarkable. the style alone is impeccable. i was not familiar with her story prior to her successful career and its is such a beautiful one. not to mention a story of passion lived through such class and elegance.

its a little long, i watched it with clay, and well there are some chick flicks that he is totally game for and there are others that i feel bad b/c its just too much. but he was a sweetheart and even found some parts he could appreciate...oh also its almost entirely composed of french actors which i found refreshing as far as french accents go...

the actress that plays Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel, is phenomenal...you have to check it out!

"Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance."- Coco Chanel

am not my own

sandra mccracken, is one of my favorite artists. she not only has a lovely voice, but a lovely heart that is can be heard through her music. sandra's newest album contains many old hymns that she has redone to newer music. her husband, derek webb, sings with her on some of the tracks. its going to be amazing!!! i am dying to get it... you can listen to a sample of it here, and go and purchase it on april 27

1.

found these precious images at this cute etsy shop called Penny Wishes
they would be darling in a nursery or really anywhere around a house.

of course she has an owl, i think we are destined to be friends! or at least she can provide me with some artwork for our home sometime :)

3.

and the reason for the title of this post. i saw this and could not resist. i love the wizard of oz. minus the flying monkey debacle, i could have watched it a million times over as a child. unfortunately, i always needed someone there to be with me to fast forward or to embrace during those scenes :/
happy friday!

when i saw this image on apartment therapy...my heart skipped a beat...sunlight, white, flowers, lots of color? what more do you need?

i had to see more. so i went to tamar's website Nest Decorating, and found these beauties. how about that light blue slip cover on that chair? all of it is so girly and frilly, with so many patterns. this is white done in away that looks totally livable

this lady does her flowers and i like it

not only is she super great at "nesting" in her own home, she has quite the eye for her creations, especially jewelry. its all unique and darling with that vintage look
