what is black, white and yellow all over?

this blog!

she is a cute girl from texas who is an architect in Louisiana. her pictures inspire me to redo our room using only these colors...

these are pictures she received of a guestroom/office space and it looks so neat! did you see there is even a splash of yellow on the computer?

this pillow is precious

i want to throw a party using these invitations

i don't know if i could be more obsessed with this table cloth and those chargers

any white platters/china seem so elegant to me

then everyone would wear black and the guest of honor would wear yellow and all would be perfect :)

i found these chairs at estate sale before we got married over a year ago. the man was trying his best to get rid of them, so he sold me all 6 for $50.....

after a lot of spray paint and covering the seats this is what we got

finally got one of my goals accomplished!

to my friends kanye, joe and serena.....i would just like to ask you one thing....why are you surprised people are still talking about what you did? {hear me out i understand media always carry things on wayyyyyy to long, worse than a top 20 radio station} i too actually hate hearing about the events that included you. nonetheless, what all of you did was rude and offensive and you all seem to be shocked that there are consequences for your actions. yes, you have apologized acted like an adult after childish behavior, as is with life.... accept responsibility...anyway that is my 2 cents

tonight is the season premiere of the biggest loser!!!! clay and i are so excited! we have become so into this show. it is so inspirational, i mean have you seen the previews? i can't stop tearing up every time i see it. so just some things to look forward to for me:

dan is back! remember he was the heaviest kid ever on the show? and his partner well, pretty much screwed him over. this kid tried so hard last season, it was so sad to watch. i'm so glad he is back to try again.
to be honest, although i know she has does really well and most of her trainees have actually won the TBL...jillian drives me crazy. her incessant yelling and breaking people down, i am not a fan of. i understand her goal in it all but sometimes i think its does more harm than good.

then there is bob. he is so great! he is usually the one who gets a little more creative and thinks outside the box. not to mention i like the way he talks to they have feelings and that them as people inside and out are changing.

then there is allison sweeney. who i have to say is one of the most awkward hosts i have ever watched on a show that is pre-recorded. i mean when she is live its horrendous, but when its recorded you can still see all the awkward pauses she takes, when people speak it throws her off, how she describes challenges as they are happening and how she poses her questions usually looked very forced and unnatural...

but who am i kidding i love it all! check out the preview here...

look at what i found at the thrift store! how great is this??? {this is it on our couch} i found it there for $4 and when i got to the register they informed me that it was actually 1/2 off! don't mind if i do :)

some juxtaposition...yes please!

one of my most favorite things to do is to go to flea markets, estate sales, thrift stores and antique malls. I love finding unique pieces for the house {and some clothes/jewelry}. i always feel like i can find some cool things here and there but i often have trouble seeing the big picture. i tend to find some shabby, some mid-century, some antique and some random and although i appreciate a good eclectic look sometimes i get a bit carried away. so as often as i read design blogs and magazines immersing myself learning all that i can i have developed a habit of "stalking" one particular person. i mean when you can see the real life thing at work why not? now i say stalking b/c when they are in your familia can you call it that?

her name is beth and she writes about all things super interesting here...

{again i have no idea how to link these things, help please!}

i love to look at her blog and hang out with her! to see all the things she thinks of and does. she has so much creativity its beyond me. {not too mention she is also quite the gourmet chef...note that i did not say cook...nononono that word doesn't do justice to her talent} i try not to drool when she talks about her latest idea or adventure in her decorating. her and my brother in law just recently purchased a beautiful house and its all i can to not stop by weekly and see what she has done. if you don't believe me please admire some of this... i must clarify these are of their old place so the pictures are a little dated...

these are some chairs she recovered. never in my life would i have thought to put those three very different patterns. but that is beth for you and look how great they look!!!!!! one of my for sure favs!

now here is the other thing she does is pay close attention to detail {another thing i fall short on} if could see better into her dining area she had these great shutters on the wall next to books she nailed to the wall.

look what she has created above the couch! how great is that!?!? the texture and the orange...yes please! {also please look carefully and you will see a sweet little black and white head sticking her head out of the blankets...this is one of sophie's fav cousins! Lu is the smartest dog i have ever met. and sophie loves to play with her, but sophie is not nearly as quick or as agile as it usually gets a little crazy with sophie clumsiness}

and how about these? they just look fabulous. i am pretty sure had i walked by these windows ever i would not have had this vision. her talent continues as well with her sewing capabilities, her style and her smarts. she is just a plethora of expertise. did i mention she was my sister in law?????
ahh yes, be jealous all of you
